Insurgentes it’s proud to present its new sub-label: Tra Tra Trax. A hub for new sounds, from post-reggaeton to electronic-tribal/ club tracks, inspired by rhythms that we Latinx grew up with and that still runs through our open veins. It is also an effort to introduce and amplify marginal cadences, movements, and above all, the power of what the artists from the global South are sprouting from their streets, antros and underworlds.
For the first instalment, Envigado's finest marks the debut with EVG en el mapa, five cuts plagued with futuristic perreo nostalgia. Unravelling the golden days of the genre, "Medellín 3000" and "Cómo olvidarla" travel in time to bring back reggaetón boutique elegance. "Doncella (Tributo a la Z y la L)" pays homage to the iconic duo Zion & Lennox, turning around their 2004 gem into a true dispenser of sweaty bellaqueo. The two remaining tracks are more than clear examples of DJ Pai's premise: the perreo and the tears are more than welcome in the club.
